Regan is a relatively unknown artist in Tauranga, however Regan is highly regarded in the world of contemporary Māori art and is a Committee Member of the Te Atinga national collective of Māori Visual Artists.
Regan is a graduate of the Māori Visual Arts programme at Massey University under the tutelage of Robert Jahnke and is an academic member of staff delivering the Rauangi Visual Arts programme at Te Wananga o Aotearoa in Rotorua.
Regan is a descendant of the Ngati Hangarau people of Bethlehem and is a mixed-media artist specialising in painting and uku or clay work.
Regan's trademark is work that is characterised by a ethereal linear style. We are excited to be exhibiting Regan's work for the first time at Creative BOP - Te Moana a Toi in the Te Huihui o Matariki: the Rise of Matariki exhibition. Regan's work can also be viewed in the foyer of the Te Wananga o Aotearoa Campus at the 17th Avenue business park.
