Sasima Pearce creates mixed media artworks, abstract paintings and photographs. Sasima takes inspiration from her surroundings – using the people and landscapes in her daily life as subject matter while commenting on the effect on her feelings and memories.

Her mixed media artworks are a direct response to the surrounding environment, using her everyday feelings, emotions and experiences as a starting point.

Her works establish a link between the reality and that imagined by its conceiver. Her works focus on the changing of memories, the realm of emotions and feelings towards her surroundings. She often creates work using creative mixed techniques combining unrelated aspects leading to surprising analogies.

In her work, Sasima investigates the dynamics of landscapes and seascapes, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what landscape means to us. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination.

Her works are on the one hand touchingly beautiful, on the other hand tenderly mesmerising attractive and fascinating. Again and again, she leaves us with a mix of feelings and thoughts like having a vivid dream.
