The inaugural meeting of Bookrapt [The Bay of Plenty Children’s Literature Association took place in Tauranga on Wednesday 18th October 1983.
Bookrapt is a group of writers, artists, schoolteachers, librarians, parents, and grandparents with a passion for children’s literature who foster an appreciation of Aotearoa New Zealand and international literature for children, juniors, and young people.
To celebrate 40 years of Bookrapt, we are holding an afternoon tea in the hall at Wesley Methodist Church (100 Thirteenth Avenue, Tauranga South) on Saturday 28 October 2023 from 2pm to 4pm.
