This class is for anyone looking to expand their knowledge of handmade books, traditional stitching techniques, and the potential of paper! This class is geared up to get you sewing in no time. Everything is provided for you in a handy kit, so all you need to do is turn up to get making!
The kit includes:
2 x book-board covers, wrapped in up cycled blush fabric and lined with handmade paper
8 x sketch paper signatures, pre-punched (approx. 100 finished pages)
1 x curved upholstery needle, threaded with natural, waxed cotton thread

Grace Windey is an internationally exhibited, autobiographical artist + maker from Greenville, South Carolina. She has an MA in Jewellery and Metals from the Royal College of Art in London, UK and a BFA in Sculpture from Winthrop University. In her practice as a maker, Grace seeks sustainability through the revitalising and repurposing of precious scraps, the offcuts of her artistic endeavours, and sentimental trinkets saved over the years.
Participants should be 16+ and this workshop is suitable for beginners or those with experience. All materials will be provided, just bring yourself and your can-do attitude. Masks must be worn for the duration of the workshop. Thank you for understanding and for helping to keep our community safe.
