This one-day workshop is for beginners or people who want to refresh their Upholstery skills.
You will learn some fundamental techniques of upholstery. This will give you enough confidence to kick start your new upholstery hobby or revamp your tired pieces at home and the confidence to build on your new skills. Starting with the footstool frame provided, you will build up the comfort layers and then upholster like a pro with your fabric choice.
Learn Upholstery in the beautiful surroundings of the Historic Village. Bring a friend or organize a group outing. Only 7 spaces per workshop, so BE QUICK to lock in a space.

Time: 10 am – 4:30 pm
Cost: $175 – $80 deposit
Tea, Coffee and biscuits are supplied. You will be given your own footstool kit; all you need is a 1-metre square Upholstery grade fabric and a button.
Fabric is available for those busy people $10
Paula has been teaching beginners upholstery workshops for over 5 years now and continues to upskill and share her knowledge with the community.
The skills and techniques you will learn are;
- Build the foundation with a footstool frame and elastic webbing
- Create a comfort core with foam and Dacron
- Prepare and cut your fabric.
- Create Single corner pleats
- Sew corner pleat using a blind stitch
- No-sew piping
- Attach piping
- Attach button using a slip knot
