Explore different plant-based recipes that are healthy and affordable for your whānau. As part of the 2020 Tauranga Moana Matariki calendar of events The Incubator Creative Hub is proud to be presenting a series of workshops celebrating Maori artists and their art forms. This series of online tutorials have been made available by support from the Tauranga Creative Communities Scheme.
We are in a time where eating nutritional, affordable plant-based food is crucial for the betterment of our tinana, our pockets and our taiao. This workshop will explore the basics of how to substitute dairy products with homemade alternatives, spice combinations for flavour and some ideas for easy, cheap, healthy meals that can feed the whānau. We are living in a time where the way forward, is to go back to the roots of our fundamental relationship with food and the environment. This is a fundamental aspect of Matariki. Back to a time when kai represented celebration, connection, creativity and healing, something that has proven to be essential during the rāhui. This is an invitation to join that movement and have fun with it too.
