Tauranga Diwali Festival

Oct 28 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

| Free

Presented by: One Love Charity

Put your hands in the air: Tauranga’s fourth Diwali Festival is pushing to become New Zealand’s top national-quality Diwali festival!

We will roll out some international acts which have been unheard of in this country. The TGA Diwali Festival is a bespoke event of the highest quality, set on the beautiful Historic Village site in the heart of our city. A line-up of international, national and local performers of incredible Indian dance and songs is awaiting you, so just a gold coin donation at the entrance!

Every detail is being considered to make the Diwali celebration a memorable and historic day for the Diwali culture here at home.

We invite you to join our dances: Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Bhangra, Bollywood, Sri Rama-kirtan, semi classical as well as folk performances will be part of the Tauranga Diwali celebration 2023.

So often people tell us how good the Diwali festival energy is: Everyone enjoys themselves when they’re in a safe environment and where they feel respected and uplifted. Some love the diya lighting ceremony, others delve into the transcendental pastimes of Lord Rama, and others just cherish being with many open-minded people celebrating a piece of beautiful culture.

We view our Diwali festival as a temporary community where thousands of people share a common love of art, music and ancient, sublime culture. We know in our hearts that a good dance is one of the best wellness activities mankind ever discovered.

In fact, from 8.30 pm we will have everyone dance on the Greens to the best Bhangra dance party this Village has ever seen. Shine on and meet us there!
