Presented by: This is Us – He waka eke noa
Members of Tauranga’s diverse cultural communities are invited to take part in storytelling and design workshops where you will be able to share the story of how you or your whanau came to live in New Zealand, and your hopes and desires for the future of Tauranga or New Zealand/Aotearoa.
These stories will form the basis for the design for you to decorate a hoe (paddle). One side of the hoe will tell a story of where you have come from and the other side, your hopes for the future.
You don’t need to be an artist – you just need to be committed to sharing your stories and to decorate a hoe with your stories to the best of your ability. You can work individually or as a family group.
Space is limited to 30 participants but please register your interest and find out more here.
