SUMMARY:Just Bring Yourselves - An Exhibition by Jennie Holdsworth
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Incubator Creative Hub\nJust Bring Yourselves is a collection of mixed media paintings exploring domestic interiors\, chairs\, vessels and lamps in warm\, muted tones. \nThrough paint\, collage and layered surfaces\, the works reflect on warmth\, welcome and the spaces we return to. A chair at a table asks who sat there before\, or who it might be waiting for. Lamps\, vessels and familiar rooms hold the feeling of home. These are paintings about what a place or an object can hold. \nThe aesthetic behind this work was inherited before it was chosen. It comes from growing up in a home with a particular kind of warmth\, and from three generations sharing a similar way of making a home. The Dutch call it gezellig; a feeling that is difficult to translate but easy to recognise. \nJennie Holdsworth is a mixed media artist and Visual Art educator based in Tauranga\, Aotearoa New Zealand. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts\, University of Auckland\, and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching. Her work has sold to private collectors across New Zealand. Just Bring Yourselves is her first solo exhibition. \nSponsored by Gate Pa New World\nThis exhibition launch preview is Friday 31st July\, 5.30pm – 7pm at The Incubator Creative Hub\, The Historic Village\, 17th Ave\, Tauranga Everyone is welcome. Licensed Bar available \nOn display at The Incubator Gallery from 1st August to the 22nd of August. \nFind out more

SUMMARY:French Masters - Requiem - G. Fauré - Te Deum - M.A. Charpentier
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Scholars Baroque Aotearoa\nOur second concert of the year features the much-loved Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. A timeless classic and an eternal favourite of choirs and audiences alike\, the Scholars are delighted to bring this cherished work from their library once again. \nPrevious performances of the Requiem by the Scholars have been described as “breathtaking and sublime”\, and this year’s performance promises to deliver the same drama and serenity for which the work is so deeply loved. \nAlongside it\, the concert features Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s radiant Te Deum\, a hallmark of the French Baroque. Its orchestral brilliance and intricate choral writing offer a vivid contrast to the gentle intimacy of Fauré’s vision\, capturing the splendour of 17th-century France. \nA richly expressive evening of French elegance\, colour\, and choral beauty. \nThe Scholars Baroque Aotearoa will be led by conductor Chalium Poppy\, joined by popular tenor soloist Iain Tetley and exceptional soloists from within the ensemble.
