SUMMARY:Sunday Morning Sound Bath
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Ruth Holden | The Sound Temple\nCome and join me for a beautiful sound experience in the Sound Temple\, a beautiful Belle tent in Mount Maunganui. \nHosted amongst the sounds of nature\, on rural land. Relax in harmony with crystal bowls\, chimes\, medicine drum and gong. \nThe healing frequencies of nature and harmonics is a gorgeous combination. Come as you are and leave feeling calm\, nurtured and uplifted. \nBenefits of sound can include: \nCalm the nervous system. Certain tones and rhythms can activate your parasympathetic nervous system\, or your body’s “rest-and-digest” mode. That helps slow your heart rate\, relax muscles\, and ease stress. \nShift your brain waves. Your brain uses different wave patterns\, depending on what you’re doing. Sound baths may help shift you from active beta waves to slower alpha\, theta\, or delta waves\, which are linked to calmer\, \nSync up your brain and body. Some researchers think sound can create a more organized brainwave pattern that helps you feel mentally clear and physically relaxed. They’re also studying how vibrations may help improve blood flow and influence muscles\, cells\, bones\, and other tissue. \nHelp your body handle stress better. In small studies\, sound baths have been linked to lower levels of cortisol (a key stress hormone) and improved heart rate variability (a marker of how well your body bounces back from stress). \nThis event is limited to 10 spots\, secure your space. \nFind out more

SUMMARY:June Opening Night Street Party - 4 Art Exhibitions
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Incubator Creative Hub\nCome along – your part of the magic of our monthly launch events and a part of Tauranga’s Local Art Scene. \nThis month programme of new shows features students just finding their feet in the gallery art world and some pretty seasoned professionals – a great interesting range. \nAt The Incubator Hub\, art isn’t just hung on walls it’s experienced and admired by many. Come and support local artists from across the motu as they share their work with you art lovers. \nThe Incubator Creative Hub (based in the gorgeous Tauranga Historic Village) is a nationally recognised space where Aotearoa’s arts scene grows and thrives. \nHere’s the good bit……\nFriday 5th June 5.30pm–7pm: Expect live music\, and a licensed bar\, grazing platter by our wonderful sponsors at Gate Pa New World\, with four powerful new exhibitions all launching on the same night. \nEvery person who turns up helps an artist take their next step\, build confidence\, and feel seen. Come see work from artists right here in Tauranga as well as further afield. Bring your friends and let’s fill the village with good vibes. \nThe People’s Gallery – Toi ka Rere: Tūrangawaewae – Bethlehem College Seniors Art Exhibition:\nTūrangawaewae – literally tūranga (standing place)\, waewae (feet)\, it is often translated as ‘a place to stand’. Tūrangawaewae are places where we feel especially empowered and connected. \nYear 11\, 12 and 13 Art students have explored the theme of identity through understanding their tūrangawaewae. Woven through the exhibition are the students’ visits to our school marae\, Te Wairoa\, their journey to Tauranga city\, Mount Maunganui beach\, their homes\, memories with whānau and friends\, and their Christian faith. \nThe Incubator Gallery: Drift an Exhibition by Damien Kurth:\nOn the other end of the scale Damien holds a Master of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts from Otago Polytechnic. \nWorking mostly in oils\, Kurth creates incredibly detailed ‘trompe l’oeil’ works that feel like tricks of the eye. The commonplace objects he paints possess the ‘seemliness of the unfamiliar’ or ‘Jamais vu’ a term used to describe the experience of being unfamiliar with something that is very familiar. He builds the painting’s surface slowly; each stroke of oil working with the other to create a harmonic whole. \nThe Pot House Gallery: Coming Undone – by Jo Harris:\nJo Harris is an Auckland-based ceramic artist whose practice revolves around the theme of the authenticity of self and the masks we wear. This exhibition delves into the complex and often conflicting relationship between the inner psychological worlds of women and the roles that society continues to impose upon them. Using black clay as a primary medium\, the work gives physical form to emotional and psychological states that are often difficult to articulate. \nImprint Gallery:\nThe Cube Gallery – perfectly proportioned and run by a trio of printmaker studio artists. Always an Intimate but powerful pocket-sized punch! \nFind out more

SUMMARY:Full Moon Sound Bath
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Ruth Holden | The Sound Temple\nCome and unplug from the world in nature and receive\, be nurtured and feel connected. \nThis is a two hour sacred fire ceremony and sound bath with cacao. These circles are held in the Sound Temple and on the land surrounding\, we gather round the fire for a powerful intention setting and connection and prepare the participants for a deep sound journey.  Each event is individually curated\, making best use of the opportunity to work intentionally in flow with the planetary alignments and realise the incredible potential that comes with the various phases of the moon. \nAfter the fire ceremony we enjoy a high quality locally sourced cacao\, Essence cacao is a sacred elixir from Samoa that enriches the experience by aiding in expanding the heart chakra to create space for expansion and vulnerability. This medicine can help you journey into states of higher awareness and connect you to your inner desires. \nThe Sound Bath: after the cacao we settle in for a deeply nurturing and nourishing sound bath. This can consist of any of the following:  tuning forks\, essential oils\, medicine drum\, crystal bowls\, chimes\, shakers\, crystals and harp. Reiki may also be included. \nAfter the sound bath the circle is closed and our guests have the opportunity to drift off home or to stay and share. Those who stay will be invited to journal\, chat and have a sleepy tea together to unpack the experience. \nThe full moon brings a natural conclusion to past cycles and it is a time to let go of that which no longer serves. \nFind out more

SUMMARY:Balloon Dog
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Indian Ink Theatre Company\nWould you open your door to a stranger? \nWhen a five year old girl befriends a lonely migrant worker her family unravels; opening them up to face uncomfortable truths about themselves… and the world beyond their front gate. \n1800s Calcutta becomes 21C Auckland in Indian Ink’s stage adaptation of one of India’s most-loved stories\, Kabuliwala. This beautifully tender tale reveals that we’re more alike than we think. \nOur award-winning creative team bring you all the things people love about Indian Ink: humour\, heart\, live music and pure theatrical magic. \nFind out more
