SUMMARY:Stage to Screen
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Baycourt Community and Arts Centre\nOur nearly 100-year-old Mighty Wurli steps into the spotlight for its next musical blockbuster that blends the thrill of live theatre with the glamour of cinema. \nStarring acclaimed theatre organist Scott Harrison\, Stage to Screen features a star-studded programme of classic musical numbers that began life on the stage before reaching new audiences on the silver screen. \nRevel in the romance of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera and the passion of Jesus Christ Superstar. Rise and storm the barricades with Schoenberg’s epic Les Misérables\, then skip down memory lane with the timeless\, golden melodies of Rodgers & Hammerstein. \nJoin us for an engaging afternoon of music and experience the Mighty Wurli doing what it was designed to do – connecting audiences to stories through music – under the bright Baycourt lights. \nStage to Screen is proudly presented by Baycourt\, with support from the Tauranga Theatre Organ Society. \nPAY WHAT YOU CAN\nWe’re excited to offer our ‘pay what you can’ model for this concert to enable greater accessibility for our community. We know that price can be a barrier to enjoying live entertainment so we wanted to give the power back to the people and have you decide what you can afford. \nWhen you purchase a ticket to Stage to Screen\, select the price option that suits you best and you’re done\, it’s as simple as that! (And just a friendly reminder: a small booking fee will apply.) \nAll proceeds support future performances and the preservation of Baycourt’s treasured Mighty Wurli. \nFind out more

SUMMARY:New Moon Sound Bath
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Ruth Holden | The Sound Temple\nWelcome to The Sound Temple! Come and unplug from the world in nature and receive\, be nurtured and feel connected. \nThis is a two hour sacred fire ceremony and sound bath with cacao. These circles are held in the Sound Temple a beautiful belle tent and on the land surrounding\, we gather round the fire for a powerful intention setting circle and connection and prepare the participants for a deep sound journey.  Each event is individually curated\, making best use of the opportunity to work intentionally in flow with the planetary alignments and realise the incredible potential that comes with the various phases of the moon. \nDuring the fire ceremony we enjoy a high quality locally sourced cacao\, Essence cacao is a sacred elixir from Samoa that enriches the experience by aiding in expanding the heart chakra to create space for expansion and vulnerability. This medicine can help you journey into states of higher awareness and connect you to your inner desires. \nThe Sound Bath: after the cacao we step into the Sound Temple and settle in for a deeply nurturing and nourishing sound bath. This can consist of any of the following:  tuning forks\, essential oils\, medicine drum\, crystal bowls\, chimes\, shakers\, crystals and harp. Reiki may also be included. \nThe benefits of Sound Baths:\n– Deep Relaxation & Stress Relief: Sound baths calm the nervous system\, lower heart rate\, and reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels.\n– Improved Sleep: The low-frequency sounds can help improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia.\n– Mental Clarity & Focus: They can quiet racing thoughts\, improve focus\, and aid in shifting from chaotic to calmer mental states.\n– Physical Healing: Participants often report reduced physical discomfort\, reduced inflammation\, and better circulation.\n– Emotional Release: Sound vibrations can help process emotions and offer relief from anxiety or depression \nAfter the sound bath the circle is closed and our guests have the opportunity to drift off home or to stay and share. Those who stay will be invited to journal\, chat and have a sleepy tea together to unpack the experience. \nThe new moon is a time of new beginnings and is perfect for sowing seeds of new intention. \nThe Sound Temple is a no phone zone. Enjoy the connection with others without digital distractions. \nFind out more

SUMMARY:Sunday Morning Sound Bath
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Ruth Holden | The Sound Temple\nCome and join me for a beautiful sound experience in the Sound Temple\, a beautiful Belle tent in Mount Maunganui. \nHosted amongst the sounds of nature\, on rural land. Relax in harmony with crystal bowls\, chimes\, medicine drum and gong. \nThe healing frequencies of nature and harmonics is a gorgeous combination. Come as you are and leave feeling calm\, nurtured and uplifted. \nBenefits of sound can include: \nCalm the nervous system. Certain tones and rhythms can activate your parasympathetic nervous system\, or your body’s “rest-and-digest” mode. That helps slow your heart rate\, relax muscles\, and ease stress. \nShift your brain waves. Your brain uses different wave patterns\, depending on what you’re doing. Sound baths may help shift you from active beta waves to slower alpha\, theta\, or delta waves\, which are linked to calmer\, \nSync up your brain and body. Some researchers think sound can create a more organized brainwave pattern that helps you feel mentally clear and physically relaxed. They’re also studying how vibrations may help improve blood flow and influence muscles\, cells\, bones\, and other tissue. \nHelp your body handle stress better. In small studies\, sound baths have been linked to lower levels of cortisol (a key stress hormone) and improved heart rate variability (a marker of how well your body bounces back from stress). \nThis event is limited to 10 spots\, secure your space. \nFind out more
