DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Incubator Creative Hub\nTHIS REGISTRATION WINDOW is open from July the 13th to Nov the 23rd THE EXHIBITION ITSELF OPENS – Sat 28th of November 2026 at 10m and is – a vibrant celebration of local creativity and diverse artistic voices. \nRegister your Entry: No later than Monday the 23rd of November\, 5pm. \nMaximum Registrations: Two art works per artist. No series/diptych/triptych. \nRegistration Fee$18 per artwork\, must be paid in advance or it will not be accepted into the show. \nRegistration Fee plus Canvas: $25 – (we have a limited number of 300x300mm canvasses available for purchase). \nTERMS & CONDITIONS: \nRegistration/Ticket Criteria: One work per registration /Ticket. If you wish to submit two artworks\, please fill out a separate registration/ticket form for each one. Please include your name and title of work on each form. \nSize: Artwork/sculpture must be 300x300mm (12×12 inches)  OUTER EDGE (includes any framing/stands). Yes they can be round! Larger/smaller sizes WILL NOT be accepted. \nCondition of Work: No flimsy hangers – Cheap unsafe hangers MUST be replaced by screw eyes or D-rings and string/wire AND work without hangers or with unsafe hangers will not be accepted. Sculptures must be stable\, free standing and be able to be displayed in a safe manner\, and all artworks must be in a finished/dry state ready to be hung on delivery. \nDelivery Criteria:  \nAll works must be delivered on the Monday 23rd\, Tuesday 24th\, Wednesday 25th of November ONLY – 10am to 5pm. \nEach artwork must have a swing tag attached with the Artist’s name and the title of the work. \nInsurance: We do not insure artwork and suggest that each artist insure their own artwork if they require insurance. \nReturns: If you post artwork to us we cannot return unsold artworks unless you supply an adequate pre-paid\, self-addressed bag or box. \nGeneral Terms and Conditions \nYou MUST make arrangements to pick up unsold and/or purchased art works on Sunday 20th December by arrangement or Monday 22nd December 10-3pm or make alternative arrangements before these dates by emailing exhibitions@theincubator.co.nz. Please note any artwork remaining uncollected 6 months past the end of the exhibition\, will be donated to charity. \nWe will NOT be accepting any work that has been submitted into any previous end of year fundraising group show (ie 116 or 117 etc). \nThis exhibition is our fundraiser to continue to deliver great community exhibitions in 2026.  Artists may choose to make a donation to the People’s Gallery Community Exhibition Programme. DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Incubator Creative Hub\nWe invited potters and ceramists to create their own guardian figures to watch over our brand-new tabletop kiln. The response? Incredible. Now you can see them all at The Pot House – and take home one of your very own. \nFor centuries\, kiln gods have been placed near fires to protect the firing process and bring good fortune. In China and Hong Kong\, Yao Shen is enshrined in temples near kilns\, where potters pray\, burn incense\, and leave offerings. In ancient Greece\, Athena herself was called upon to oversee successful firings\, while mischievous kiln demons were said to punish poorly fired wares.  \nIn Western studios today\, potters often handcraft their own playful or personal guardians from leftover clay\, placing them on or near the kiln as symbols of hope\, superstition\, and skill. \nNow\, these timeless protectors are ready to find new homes.  \nWhether you place one by your fireplace\, beside the heat pump\, or somewhere it can quietly watch over your whānau\, a kiln god brings a little warmth and a lot of character. \nSponsored by Gate Pa New World This exhibition launch preview is Friday 25th September – 5.30pm at The Incubator Creative Hub\, The Historic Village\, 17th Ave\, Tauranga. She is particularly interested in what the history of dress can tell us about women’s lives\, both real and ideal. \nShe also happens to be the Exhibition and Programmes Manager at Tauranga Museum and an Honorary Research Associate at Te Papa\, where she worked as a senior curator in the History Department for fifteen years. \nClaire is currently working on a new research project with Lizzie Bisley\, Stephanie Gibson and Chanel Clarke on  ‘Fashioning the Modern Woman: 1920 to 1949’\, which explores the lives of women during this dynamic period through a combination of art\, design and dress. \nIn this illustrated talk she will give an overview of the project and then using the 1940 New Zealand Centennial Exhibition — which attracted a phenomenal audience of 2\,641\,043 people – as a springboard explore a range of modern women’s lives\, including that of  Mollie Rodie\, a journalist\, fashion illustrator and costume designer\, fashion promoter Ina Allan\, dare devil motorcyclists Pat ‘Crash’ Gamble and Moy Wong\, and Miriama Heketa\, a much admired dancer who was famously sculptured by Margaret Butler. \nClaudia Jarman (1908–1986) was a passionate art educator who inspired two generations of young people in Tauranga Moana to practise\, appreciate and\, as one former student recalled\, “to see” art and design. Teaching at Tauranga District High School and later Tauranga Girls’ College\, Claudia was also an active contributor to the city’s cultural life and a founding member of both the Tauranga Chamber Music Society and Tauranga Art Society. \nThe ‘Claudia Jarman Memorial Lecture’ was established by former student Patricia Brooks to honour Claudia’s significant contribution to her students and the arts in Tauranga. SUMMARY:Greenman Clay Mask Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Incubator Creative Hub\nA Greenman is a sculpture found across many cultures around the globe\, throughout history. Often found outside in parks or formal gardens\, hanging on walls\, imbedded in religious architecture\, the Greenman is a face surrounded by or made from leaves with branches or vines sprouting from the nose or mouth. It is primarily interpreted as a symbol of rebirth representing the cycle of growth each spring. It also has pagan roots as a rebellious artform – during the Norman conquest of England\, natives of the land were forced to build Norman churches and the Greenmen that appeared on these churches were often caricatures of their conquerors. \nEvery participant will be able to achieve their own unique mask made from clay with guidance by master potter\, Nick Eggleston. They will be fired and ready to collect within 3 weeks of the workshop. \nNick is a long-time collaborator\, tutor and resident artist of The Incubator. He graduated from Chesterfield College of Art and Design and is a member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen. While he is world renown for his amazing water colours\, especially of English Bull Terriers\, he is an actually an artist of many disciplines.
