DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Opus Orchestra\nThese school holidays\, Opus Orchestra\, led by conductor Adam Maha and local legend Jeremy Hantler\, invites tamariki and their whanau into a world where orchestral music becomes a playground. \nAt the heart of this family concert tour is The Caretaker’s Guide to the Orchestra by Jeremy Holland-Smith\, with a witty\, warm script by celebrated English illustrator and children’s author James Mayhew. Brought to life by Tauranga local Jeremy Hantler (frontman of the Harmonic Resonators) assuming the role of the Caretaker\, this imaginative work\, never before performed in New Zealand\, introduces the instruments of the orchestra through storytelling\, humour and gentle mischief\, with moments of silliness and surprise\, and children are encouraged to listen\, laugh and lean in. \nThe second part of the programme continues the journey\, with our narrator Jeremy guiding both orchestra and audience through a series of shorter works from around the globe creating a musical passport for curious ears. Kids (and kids at heart) will be invited to sing along\, move their bodies and marvel at the virtuosity of Opus Orchestra concertmaster Lara Hall stepping into the spotlight as soloist. \nTrue to Opus Orchestra family concert tradition\, the adventure doesn’t end with the final note. These circles are held in the Sound Temple and on the land surrounding\, we gather round the fire for a powerful intention setting and connection and prepare the participants for a deep sound journey.  Each event is individually curated\, making best use of the opportunity to work intentionally in flow with the planetary alignments and realise the incredible potential that comes with the various phases of the moon. \nAfter the fire ceremony we enjoy a high quality locally sourced cacao\, Essence cacao is a sacred elixir from Samoa that enriches the experience by aiding in expanding the heart chakra to create space for expansion and vulnerability. This medicine can help you journey into states of higher awareness and connect you to your inner desires. \nThe Sound Bath: after the cacao we settle in for a deeply nurturing and nourishing sound bath. This can consist of any of the following:  tuning forks\, essential oils\, medicine drum\, crystal bowls\, chimes\, shakers\, crystals and harp. Reiki may also be included. \nAfter the sound bath the circle is closed and our guests have the opportunity to drift off home or to stay and share. SUMMARY:Tea Ceremony and Sound Journey
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Ruth Holden | The Sound Temple\nThis is a full immersion into tea ceremony with sound. Held in in a beautiful space\, this is an invitation to slow down and savour tea\, sound and life. \nMark Ryan will be brewing and pouring the finest artisan Sheng Puer tea\, sourced from Yunnan province in China\, then Ruth Holden will be providing sounds and a sound bath journey after the tea session. Mats\, blanket and eye pillows are provided for your comfort. \nAfter the tea ceremony and sound journey we will have a light supper\, tea creates a special kind of hunger and we will enjoy some Chinese treats. \nTea is more than just a beverage —it’s a practice and a way of life. We are in love with art and practice of tea\, and we are excited to share it with everyone. \nDuring the tea ceremony\, you can simply relax\, enjoy the rituals\, and savour the wonderful flavours of tea. \nThis practice also helps us slow down and be more aware of each moment\, allowing us to connect with ourselves and appreciate the hidden beauty within every cup of tea. \nThe sound journey will include chimes\, rattles\, crystal bowls\, gongs and drums. \nPlease be aware:  \n🏯 The ceremony starts on time\, so please aim to arrive 10 minutes early to park and take your spot. We can’t accommodate latecomers\, unfortunately. The space is set up specifically to foster a sense of ceremony and encourage being fully present. \n🏯 Also\, we kindly request that you skip the perfumes when you come to share this experience. They can be a bit overpowering and interfere with the enjoyment of tea. \nLIMITED SPACE TO 6 SOULS. \nThe journey starts when you enter the land at Matapihi\, driving into the rural area and leaving the urban world behind. You are encouraged to leave your phone in your car and join us in the belle tent under two giant walnut trees. \nTake some time to still yourself and ground in the morning before the ceremony.
