These circles are held in the Sound Temple a beautiful belle tent and on the land surrounding\, we gather round the fire for a powerful intention setting circle and connection and prepare the participants for a deep sound journey.  Each event is individually curated\, making best use of the opportunity to work intentionally in flow with the planetary alignments and realise the incredible potential that comes with the various phases of the moon. \nDuring the fire ceremony we enjoy a high quality locally sourced cacao\, Essence cacao is a sacred elixir from Samoa that enriches the experience by aiding in expanding the heart chakra to create space for expansion and vulnerability. This medicine can help you journey into states of higher awareness and connect you to your inner desires. \nThe Sound Bath: after the cacao we step into the Sound Temple and settle in for a deeply nurturing and nourishing sound bath. This can consist of any of the following:  tuning forks\, essential oils\, medicine drum\, crystal bowls\, chimes\, shakers\, crystals and harp. Reiki may also be included. \nThe benefits of Sound Baths:\n– Deep Relaxation & Stress Relief: Sound baths calm the nervous system\, lower heart rate\, and reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels.\n– Improved Sleep: The low-frequency sounds can help improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia.\n– Mental Clarity & Focus: They can quiet racing thoughts\, improve focus\, and aid in shifting from chaotic to calmer mental states.\n– Physical Healing: Participants often report reduced physical discomfort\, reduced inflammation\, and better circulation.\n– Emotional Release: Sound vibrations can help process emotions and offer relief from anxiety or depression \nAfter the sound bath the circle is closed and our guests have the opportunity to drift off home or to stay and share. Young@Heart 3: Growing Up Is Optional promises to be a golden celebration of symphonic brilliance at Otūmoetai College Performing Arts Centre in Tauranga. \nUnder conductor William McElwee\, Youth Philharmonic Tauranga will perform soaring Mozart alongside much-loved Puccini operatic classics\, before venturing into thrilling territory with music from Dr Who and Phantom of the Opera. Kelly Hayward then makes her Bay of Plenty Symphonia conducting debut\, leading a programme of Italian passion including overtures from Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito\, Rossini’s Barber of Seville\, and Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours\, familiar to many from Disney’s Fantasia. \nThe two orchestras then combine for a rousing finale\, performing Offenbach’s famous can-can from Orpheus in the Underworld\, before rounding out the evening with Bizet’s gorgeous Carmen Suite. \nThe concert is on Saturday 20 June at 3.30 pm at Otumoetai College Hall. These circles are held in the Sound Temple and on the land surrounding\, we gather round the fire for a powerful intention setting and connection and prepare the participants for a deep sound journey.  Each event is individually curated\, making best use of the opportunity to work intentionally in flow with the planetary alignments and realize the incredible potential that comes with the various phases of the moon. \nAfter the fire ceremony we enjoy a high quality locally sourced cacao\, Essence cacao is a sacred elixir from Samoa that enriches the experience by aiding in expanding the heart chakra to create space for expansion and vulnerability. This medicine can help you journey into states of higher awareness and connect you to your inner desires. \nThe Sound Bath: after the cacao we settle in for a deeply nurturing and nourishing sound bath. This can consist of any of the following:  tuning forks\, essential oils\, medicine drum\, crystal bowls\, chimes\, shakers\, crystals and harp. Reiki may also be included. \nAfter the sound bath the circle is closed and our guests have the opportunity to drift off home or to stay and share. Those who stay will be invited to journal\, chat and have a sleepy tea together to unpack the experience. \nThe full moon brings a natural conclusion to past cycles and it is a time to let go of that which no longer serves. \nThe Sound Temple is a no phone zone. Join us at for a night of 70’s Funk\, Glitz and Glamour at Studio 64 \nSome events leave a mark. The Op Shop Ball is one of them. It’s a beloved Waihī Beach tradition that locals have been asking about ever since the last one\, and one that is long overdue its return. \nIn 1977\, the legendary Studio 54 opened its doors in New York City and became the beating heart of the disco era. Frequented by icons such as David Bowie\, Mick Jagger\, Andy Warhol\, Grace Jones and Diana Ross\, it was the place to be. The dance floor pulsed with sequins\, satin\, and the kind of glamour that’s hard to describe and impossible to forget. Massive light installations\, costumed dancers\, and a crowd where celebrities rubbed shoulders with absolutely everyone. \nOutside\, people queued for hours just to get in. Inside\, nobody wanted to leave. It was excessive\, electric\, and by all accounts\, absolutely brilliant. \nThis July\, this is the inspiration behind the highly anticipated return of the Waihī Beach Op Shop Ball\, Studio 64 (do you get it\, a clever play on words with +64 being the international calling code for NZ). \nDress the era: We’d love to see you raid a local op shop for your outfit\, after all\, putting together your look is half the fun\, and the creativity on display never disappoints. But whether you go full second-hand or simply dress the era\, come ready to commit to the theme. \nGet creative\, think outside the square and show off what you’ve put together. \nThe night\nDoors open at 7pm\, and we start with the irresistible grooves of local funk favourites Disco Bush. Next DJ Dave takes over\, spinning back to back bangers to keep the dance floor alive all the way through to midnight. \nFood is included in your ticket and drinks available at the bar. This is a proper night out that you’ll be talking about for years to come. \nVIP tables are available at $1\,000 for a table of eight. There will be champagne for the table\, food brought to your table throughout the night\, and the best seats in the room. These are limited and tables will go quickly. \nEvery ticket sold goes directly back into community initiatives here at Waihī Beach.
