OPPORTUNITY: NZ Mural Contest - Katikati Open-Air Art

Applications close 30 August 2019

Entries are open now for the NZ Mural Contest & Arts Festival in Katikati!

The theme is “Life is not what it seems”.

Consider a realistic artwork. There is no depth to the two-dimensional image on the canvas, but if the artist uses perspective, shadow, relative sizes, and other clues to make the brain perceive a three-dimensional scene, the whole artwork changes. An illusion is a false mental image produced by misinterpretation of things that exist.

Katikati Open-Air Art are challenging artists to make interactive and mind bending visual illusions as part of the 2019 NZ Mural Contest and Arts Festival.

Please keep an eye on their website and Facebook for updates. Phone 07 549 5250 for enquiries.
