NEWS: Promoting Your Creative Work

On Tuesday 29 May Creative Bay Of Plenty held the second of its ARTillery upskilling workshops for Creatives, with the focus on 'How To Promote Your Creative Work'. Participating creatives worked in a range of genres. From visual artist to illustrator, jewellery maker and author. Together we went through each of 'the 6 steps of a promotional plan'. MINDFOOD: How Instagram is shaping the art world

I know I bang on about Instagram a bit but trust me, it is a brilliant platform for getting your creative work seen by a wider audience and promoting what you do. Take it from me. In the two years that I started experimenting with art and posting it on social media (merely as a record for myself), I gained over 10,000 followers and sold my artwork around the world.

I'm a huge advocate for Bay Of Plenty artists to set up their own Instagram page to showcase their work and the talent we have in the Bay Of Plenty. Like anything though, it does have its pros and cons, but you will never know unless you try. Here is my account if you're interested @aliciabeech.art.nz

If you would like to learn more about Instagram, send me an email to alicia@creativebop.org.nz and we will look to set up an Instagram workshop.

Follow @creatives_of_bayofbop and #creativebop so that you can see what other local creatives are doing in the Bay.

If I can't convince you then maybe this article I read on stuff can give you a bit more insight.
