Each artist approaches their work from a distinct perspective\, spanning photography\, textile art\, mixed media\, painting\, and illustration\, creating a richly layered exhibition that invites curiosity and connection. The varied works are united by place\, yet diverse in voice\, material\, and intent. \nVisitors can expect an open\, conversational atmosphere where the stories behind the work are just as engaging as the pieces themselves. Artists will be present at different times throughout the exhibition\, offering opportunities to meet\, ask questions\, and gain insight into their processes and inspirations. DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Ninja Knits & The Incubator Creative Hub\nThe Ninja Knits in collaboration with The Incubator Creative Hub would like to welcome you to a Beanie Extravaganza. \nThey sent the call out to artists\, crocheters\, weavers and knitters to submit their creations and the work came rolling in. \nThis display of crafty art was created to involve and encourage groups and individuals interested in knitting\, crochet or woven works to produce a fun beanie. There are categories from Greenie Beanies\, Meanie Beanies\, Wild and Woolly\, Funky Junkie and Flight of Fancy. There are children’s section’s too. The submitters have let their imagination run completely wild and have made some truly unique creations for you to peruse and even buy. \nIntrigued? want to join in the fun? You still have time to submit a beanie (Grab a premade beanie and accessorise it to make it unique. Its all about ART\, not necessarily stitch\, or technique.) \nNinja Knits is a fun casual group based at The Incubator Creative Hub in the Historic Village. This group take part in yarn bombing in the Tauranga area and around the Historic Village. Several members of the group produce work to drop off in parks and other places around the village as random acts – paying it forward to create smiles and happy vibes. They meet once a month on a Sunday Morning. DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Incubator Creative Hub\nSuitable for beginner artists through to advanced\, these relaxed monthly sessions provide a fabulous opportunity to hone your observational drawing skills. The session will be hosted by long standing Incubator collaborator and talented artist\, Damien Kurth. He will be there to offer demonstrations\, support\, hints\, challenges and feedback for those who want it. \nWe will provide basic drawing supplies and a live model. Bring a mate\, your favourite drawing materials and refreshments. See ya there! \n*Out for respect for the model and the life drawing process\, this is a closed workshop. Please arrive with time to settle in before the workshop begins and doors close at 6pm. \nA word from the The Incubator: We are always striving to try make art opportunities more affordable and accessible for the community. At the same time we are also working to pay artists and collaborators fairly\, maintain our spaces and provide the necessary materials and resources. This intimate monthly gathering\, is a self-sustaining series. It needs a minimum number of participants to break even and anything above that goes toward the aforementioned necessities for future sessions. SUMMARY:The Space of a Pause – Group Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: The Incubator Creative Hub\nThe Space of a Pause brings together a group of women artists whose work invites a slowing down\, a moment of stillness\, breath\, and attention. Across painting\, textile\, photography and object-based practice\, the exhibition offers works that create room rather than demand it\, encouraging the viewer to pause\, linger\, and look more closely. \nFor these artists\, making becomes a deliberate act of stillness and quiet. Created alongside lives shaped by care\, movement\, and change – and for many\, the presence of children – the studio becomes a space to step out of urgency and into focus. Within this space\, light settles\, forms are held\, and quiet gestures carry meaning. \nRooted in ways of seeing contemporary life in Aotearoa\, the exhibition suggests that a pause is not an absence\, but something actively made. Here\, stillness becomes an invitation\, to take space\, to notice what is often overlooked\, and to inhabit a moment where form\, feeling\, and attention are allowed to rest. \nGroup name: In Quiet Company\nIn Quiet Company is a small collective of female artists based in Aotearoa\, brought together through a shared stage of life\, balancing creative practice alongside family and work. This is your opportunity to be inspired\, explore new ideas\, and create something truly fantastic and original. \nWe invite local artists\, knitters\, and crocheters to participate by registering a beanie for this spectacular group show.  Start your creation now. \nRegister your Entry: No later than the 6th of April 2026\, 5pm. \nRegistration Fee $10 per Beanie\, must be paid in advance or it will not be accepted into the show. \nWe are excited to present the following categories to spark your creativity: \nGreenie Beanie – Create a beanie that celebrates or comments on our natural world\, either on a local or global scale.\nMeanie Beanie – Craft a beanie inspired by the macabre.
