Art In Business Success

This week we had the pleasure of delivering works from local artists to the Kathleen Kilgour Centre as part of our ‘Art In Business’ Program’. It is wonderful to see how art can change a space and how people stopped to ponder and admire the works as they walked by.

As facilitators Creative Bay Of Plenty endeavours to create connections between the regions arts and culture sector and business community. One of the businesses involved is Ignition which recently sold tow pieces of Birgitt Shannon’s work.

“Every day Ignition members, their clients, guests to our events as well as people from out of town that utilise our space for meetings, form an ongoing, constantly changing audience. Being surrounded by eye-catching artwork often triggers interest and conversations. As a result, we helped to sell two paintings by local artist Jeanette Pleijte last December. Currently, we have three works by Birgitt Shannon on display – stunning, colourful paintings, bold shapes and motifs that leave plenty of room for personal interpretation” – Susanne Irwin, Manager at Ignition.
