Creative Bay of Plenty is delighted to advise that the Creative Communities Schemes that are currently under way in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty will still go ahead, with slightly amended timetables.
Creative New Zealand has decided that the decision to progress with the schemes can be made locally. This is great news for Tauranga and the Western Bay as we have almost finished both processes, with just the panel assessment meetings left to complete.
We anticipate the panel meetings will take place online just after Easter Weekend, with funding decisions made by the end of April. It is expected funding will be provided to successful applicants by around mid-May, with the timeline for project completion moving to 1 June 2021.
While there will be some projects that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 or will not be able to fit into the new timeline, we are confident that most of them will be able to take place either as planned or in line with the new dates.
If you have applied to the Creative Communities Scheme and are unsure of the status of your project or would like any further information, please email annie@creativebop.org.nz. If you’re thinking ahead, the next round of the Creative Communities Scheme in Tauranga and the Western Bay will start in August.
