GENERAL MANAGER, Creative Bay of Plenty

To help influence the artistic and cultural future of the area, Creative Bay of Plenty are now actively seeking a suitably experienced, qualified, ambitious and talented General Manager.

This exciting opportunity will suit someone who is already able to demonstrate exceptional results in a similarly complex role working with multiple stakeholders, community groups and sponsors.

Due to the pivotal nature of this position you will also be expected to maintain and develop close working relationships with the Creative Bay of Plenty board of trustees; Creative New Zealand; Local and Regional councils, and a range of community art organisations.

Needless to say you will be considered an expert in your field and will possess exceptional relationship management capabilities, a well-developed and relevant network for arts and culture across NZ, and a demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver to agreed plans and targets.

Alongside the attributes and experience listed above the recruitment process will also seek to establish:

  • Evidence of your ability to convey a vision in a compelling and intelligent manner.
  • Your leadership proficiency in building high performing teams and inspiring staff, trustees, volunteers and other stakeholders.
  • Details of relevant Art, Leadership and/or Management qualifications or considerable comparative experience in this area.
  • Examples of how you have developed effective multi-level communication and feedback channels.
  • Experience in the creation and implementation of successful business strategies delivering sustainable change and measureable benefits.
  • Examples of your negotiation skills and success in securing appropriate and ongoing investment via funders, sponsorship and philanthropy.
