As part of the post COVID economic recovery plan, Western Bay of Plenty District Council has created a new relief fund to support community groups across the district.
The $300,000 Community Resilience Fund is for registered charities, not-for-profit organisations incorporated societies or community groups that need additional funding for their projects in the wake of the global pandemic.
Priority will be given for applications of up to $10,000 and for those organisations that can show the negative impact that COVID-19 has had on them. Council will also consider reimbursing costs for past expenditure due to the pandemic.
The fund is a consolidation of the council’s Community Matching Fund and Facilities in the Community Fund. It is anticipated both funds will resume in 2021. For further information, visit https://www.westernbay.govt.nz/council/economic-recovery-plan#toc-link-1.
