Local artisans, creatives, makers, small businesses and food will line the Mainstreet of Bethlehem Town Centre from this Sunday, February 19th, with the launch of the ‘Day Out Markets’ at the community shopping centre.
Bethlehem Town Centre Marketing Manager Dan Weck says the new family friendly, free ‘Day Out Markets’ will run every Sunday from 9am – 1pm, weather permitting.
“Creating a vibrant environment for our community is at the heart of everything we do at Bethlehem Town Centre so we’re pretty excited to be launching a weekly Sunday morning market. The ‘Day Out Markets’ will allow us to showcase some of the region’s best local artisans and producers and add to the offerings here in a vibrant and exciting way.”
Dan says the markets will feature an ever-changing array of vendors.
“Each week there will be a variety of different vendors which will keep things interesting. We will also have live music and some cool entertainment and activities for the kids. Alongside our existing businesses here it should make for great Sunday mornings at Bethlehem Town Centre.”
Market Manager Steph Coulter is no stranger to staging vibrant markets. She also runs the Night Out Markets and Summer Markets locally and says the addition of The Day Out Markets in Bethlehem will provide a unique offering for the public.
“Bethlehem Town Centre has such a beautiful outdoor space with lots of great shops. We cannot wait to complement this with weekly markets bringing in some of the best local stallholders in our town. It’s another opportunity for us to support local and shop small.”
With an ever-changing line up of vendors Steph says she is also on the lookout for operators who would like to join the Day Out Markets.
“Supporting local business is more important than ever. I’d encourage anyone interested in joining our markets to apply for space on our website www.thedayoutmarkets.nz.”
The markets will be set up in the Mainstreet at the centre, between The Coffee Club and Options Gifts. “We’re all set to launch from 9am this Sunday,” says Dan. “Come on out and join us at the markets. Grab a coffee or a bite to eat at one of our established businesses and enjoy browsing our market vendors amidst some cool live music and entertainment. It’s a great place to be!”
