Magical candlelight concert comes to Tauranga in hospice fundraiser

The Candlelight concert series by Fever, which gained popularity around the world for beautiful renditions of the most renowned works in classical music under the gentle glow of candles, is coming to Tauranga in a fundraising event for Waipuna Hospice.

Candlelight Concerts have taken the world by storm, with performances in over 100 cities. Now, Tauranga is set to host its very own Candlelight Concert in support of Waipuna Hospice.

On the 21st of October the Holy Trinity Church will be alight with the glow of thousands of candles as a string quartet takes to the stage to perform spectacular tributes to the iconic Hans Zimmer.

“Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer” will feature many famous pieces from the renowned composer’s music in blockbuster movies. Pieces from “Inception,” “The Dark Knight,” “Interstellar” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” will be performed.

With over 3M attendees globally, this live, multi-sensory performance lit by flickering candlelight, is a magical experience you don’t want to miss.

All the proceeds from this fundraiser go towards the work of Waipuna Hospice, helping care for and support the dying and bereaved in our community.

Waipuna Hospice CEO, Richard Thurlow, says he is excited to be connecting with the community again.

“Since the onset of Covid, we’ve been diligently ensuring that our services run at full capacity and that our patient and family care meets the highest standards. While this remains our top priority, we’re thrilled to now be able to focus on rekindling our connection with the community here in Tauranga. This Candlelight Concert represents a wonderful chance for us, not only to raise funds but also to strengthen our bond with our incredible community through a fun and unique event. We can’t wait.”

“We’d also like to say a big thank you to Holy Trinity Tauranga for making this possible,” says Richard.

If an evening spent listening to a live string quartet perform surrounded by thousands of candles sounds like something you’d enjoy, then be sure to reserve your seat here.

It’s an experience that will stay with you long after the final note has been played.
