Vacancy: Editor for Our Place Magazine

Our Place Magazine is a free bimonthly magazine that’s part of the community event company Little Big Events – a family run business based in Mount Maunganui.

The founders are experts in authentic community engagement and launched Our Place in response to a gap in local storytelling.

High-quality independent journalism is at the heart of the magazine. It weaves together subjects ranging from culture, design and art to nature, environmental issues and charitable initiatives, all connected through the theme of community.

Our Place serves to raise awareness about social issues and entrepreneurial endeavours, it celebrates diversity, embraces quirkiness and inspires readers to explore their creative potential. The magazine spotlights remarkable achievements and unsung heroes.

Our Place sparks meaningful conversations, challenges perspectives, and motivates people to contribute to a brighter future for the community. It aims to foster a sense of belonging.

With its excellent editorial standards, brilliant photography, and a design approach rooted in simplicity, bold colour palettes and functional typography, Our Place has established a broad, engaged readership and seen consistent growth.

The role of editor is opening up following the completion of 48 issues with the launch editor. This role will play a pivotal part in curating and amplifying the stories that unite our community.
