The Little Big Markets continue to be a hub for local creatives to showcase and sell their work. They are approaching their eighteenth winter season in the Bay and want to welcome you to join them. Don’t be put off by “winter” in the description; the crisp blue days and huge support from the local community leads to super successful days. The Winter Markets run the first and third Saturday of each month in Coronation Park, Mount Maunganui. You can find all the dates on their website.
Each market is a chance to meet new customers, test fresh ideas, and showcase your work in an environment that’s as much about people as it is about products. For many of the stallholders, Winter’s pace creates more meaningful conversations and loyal followings.
Just ask a few of The Little Big Markets’ regulars:
Marce and Lea of We Are Drawing the Way are travelling creatives who paint and sketch as they move. Currently living in Aotearoa and exploring its every corner, they capture its beauty in joyful, colourful artworks. “Thank you for being part of our dream,” they say — and the markets have been part of that journey.
Jean-Marie of JM France turned a lifelong dream into a reality after a career change brought him from metalwork to woodwork. From his garage-turned-workshop, he handmakes beautiful wooden toys full of care and craftsmanship. His stall is a favourite with families, and he says, “We feel lucky to have a market like this right in our community.”
Aimee-Leigh Scott, the creative behind Aimee-Leigh Designs, started drawing landscapes while studying land surveying — and her art quickly became a sought-after business. She creates elegant, custom map and landscape prints that capture a deep connection to place, and says she loves the feedback and connection she gets from market-goers.
Dearest Demi, run by designer Demi Rudd, transforms thrifted and recycled fabrics into one-of-a-kind, conscious fashion. Her garments are playful, bold, and made with love. She says The Little Big Markets gave her the perfect platform to showcase her work and grow confidence in her brand.
So, if you’re a creative maker, artist, designer, foodie, or dreamer — The Little Big Markets would love to welcome you to our winter season.
With strong foot traffic, great vibes, and a team that works hard to support you, The Little Big Markets continues to be a hub for creativity year-round.
