Kia ora, Tristan Hancock here.

I am a creative (musican, composer, producer, coodinator and educator) who has been working predominantly within intercultural musical spaces.

I was born in Fiji and have been exposed to many cultures and musics over my life. This ingrained global perspective has made it easy for me to connect and collaborate with artists from many traditions.

Currently I manage and perform in 11 piece Afrofunk/highlife band Ozi Ozaa, and am a board member of Arts Connections Oceania which delivers intercultural music camp Ethno New Zealand and Transglobal Sessions.

I am the coordinator of Tauranga Improvisation Co-Op, which delivers workshops and the Imaginary Band nights at The Jam Factory. I teach guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, chapman stick and improvisation from my home studio, and often have spaces for students.

I also am available do session work on recordings and sound tracks.

If I have a super power it is that I know ‘The Person’ (or can get to know them easily) and can connect different artists and communities together.
