Tuatara Collective brings artists together to collaborate and turn our own Aotearoa stories into art. Our voice, our music, and our dance is most powerful when our hearts are entwined in the roots of the work.

Noteworthy past projects include the Over My Dead Body series, HE TOI KUPU Community Engagement Programme, biennial HAU Festival, and the recent sell-out season of FOR THE FALLEN.

Tuatara Collective works closely with Ahipoutu Collective to deliver Māori Theatre and Wellbeing Wānanga free for rangatahi in the Tauranga region. They have built very strong relationships with Tauranga Moana iwi, hapū, and schools, especially Te Wharekura o Mauao, Mount Maunganui College and Te Kura o Matapihi.

WORKSHOPS AVAILABLE

Tuatara Collective currently operates on a project-by-project basis, most of which include wānanga and workshop programmes relevant to the kaupapa of each project. The content is varied, but will always include performing arts (dance, music, drama, poetry, haka, and Pasifika movement) with a Te Ao Māori lens, weaved together with highly effective Māori mindfulness practices and mental health and wellbeing.
