Bachelor of Creative Industries are proud to present two new exhibitions within Te Ara O Mauao Gallery at Toiohomai Institute of Technology, Windermere Campus, Tauranga. As part of our now annual graduate showcase we welcome back, Fiorella Silva Perez, BCI graduate 2020 and Kim Fifield, BCI graduate 2022. With both former students having gone on to complete masters degrees in education and visual arts (respectively) we couldn’t be happier to present artworks of such a high caliber.
Fiorella Silva Perez’s Wings of Waste, is a mixed-media series that examines the tension between the beauty of New Zealand’s native birds and the harsh realities of human pollution.
Kim Fifields, The Green Carcass, is an installation that examines the implications of human actions within the context of the Anthropocene, particularly as they relate to ecocide, capitalism, and consumerism.
