The Big Idea are running a new mini series called Art Angels, in response to the many acts of generosity and kindness from creatives who are putting their skills to use for the community.
This will be a series of stories featuring the quiet leaders, the heroes of the arts who in this time are passionately giving of themselves. The Big Idea believes that the best way to lead change is to lead by example, with a spirit of generosity.
The creative sector is still in shock and working within the limitations of lockdown levels. We’re a sector and an ecology that has to rebuild, and it’s likely it will happen much slower than other parts of the economy. It will take courage for the public to attend performances, festivals, galleries and museums – so, The Big Idea want to tell stories of Art Angels to foster engagement when that time comes.
The Big Idea are looking for nominations for individuals and organisations that have been Art Angels in the past weeks.
They would love for you to provide one or more nominations from your region.
To nominate a person or organisation, simply outline within 300 words the act of kindness or goodwill that was provided, and send their name, contact and any project details to julia.barnes@thebigidea.co.nz
The Big Idea will be selecting a few to run over the next few weeks.
Nominations close Monday 15 June.
