In this hands-on course, students design and create a custom kimono-style jacket using repurposed garments or fabric offcuts. Through patchworking, colour coordination and handcraft, participants transform discarded textiles into a unique wearable piece. Students also gain experience using industrial sewing machines while learning construction and pattern terminology, industry techniques, and basic machine maintenance.
Note: This course requires students to supply their own discarded clothing, preloved fabric, or fabric offcuts.
