Celebrate Matariki with Toi Tauranga Art Gallery and Te Tuhi Mareikura Trust’s matARiki Sculpture Trail.
Taking inspiration from incredible digital sculptures, tamariki will design and create their own Matariki themed masterpiece. The matARiki Sculpture Trail is a groundbreaking, free, and interactive augmented reality (AR) exhibition held in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, during the Matariki festival period. The trail brings together traditional Māori, or mātauranga Māori, with modern digital technology, allowing participants to use their smartphones or tablets to view and interact with 3D digital sculptures.
