Wham Bam Tauranga Poetry Slam

Slam returns for its sixth year and coming back to its spiritual home of Toi Tauranga Art Gallery.
A high-energy, competitive poetry event where poets perform their original work.An exhilarating blend of poetry, performance, theatre and storytelling with an emphasis on authentic voice, emotion, and audience connection.
Over three rounds, twelve local performance poets will try to win the hearts of the audience judges, ultimately emerging as the next Wham Bam Tauranga Poetry Slam Champ.
Slams are fun, inclusive spaces and whether you perform sonnets, rap, activism or comedy, all styles are welcome. The point is not the points, the point is the poetry.
