Kia ora, Lynette Fisher here – I am a local Tauranga artist.

My practice involves painting, printmaking, drawing and assemblage where I try to unpack my identity and personal history through themes of adoption and motherhood. My focus is to explore shared concepts and experiences and create genuine access points into reading my artwork. I use recognisable visual symbols, cues and nostalgic references to express things that are difficult to put into words.

Originally I trained as a graphic designer, but ended up running small dealer art galleries and picture framing. I graduated from Toi Ohomai in 2017 with a Bachelor of Creative Industries and have since worked as a visual artist, educator and arts administrator.

I am fully committed to the arts as a necessary element to our lives, and am always available for collaborations, critique and any chance to learn.

I work from my studio in Te Puna.
