CALL OUT TO KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS.
The Ninja Knits, that meet at the Incubator Creative Hub would like to yarn-bomb a Christmas Tree at The Creative Community Campus. We will be putting out a donation box so that we can support a couple of local children’s charities over the months of November and December.
If you want to join in the fun we are wanting squares. They must be 13 x 13cm exactly. Knit or crochet. The main criteria is that each square must have a dark green border. They must be dropped off to us by Sunday the 3rd of November to be included in the yarnbomb.
They can be Christmas themed, striped, multi-coloured, sparkly or whatever floats your boat as long as it has a green border to unify the overall look of the tree. Bear in mind that the squares will be assembled as a diamond so any embellishment needs to be attached with that in mind. Please do not add embellishments that wont stand up to the weather (ie paper) and no heavy metal type things. Small embellishments like a button or a braid or ribbon or a bead is ok.
So get your needles and hooks working. Completed squares can be dropped to Wendy at The Incubator Creative Hub, before Sunday the 3rd of November.
Next meeting is Sunday October 6. You are welcome to join us and we will have yarn you can pick up from us as well. We would like all squares gathered up to assemble the tree before, Sunday November 3rd. Any queries please email Wendy at exhibitions@theincubator.co.nz.
Please note we cannot return any used squares, and we reserve the right to use only those squares that meet our criteria.
