Scholars Baroque Aotearoa invites you to a richly expressive evening of French elegance ,colour and choral beauty.
Our second concert of the season features Gabriel Faure’s much-loved Requiem – a timeless classic cherished by choirs and audience alike.
In vibrant contrast, the programme also includes Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s radiant Te Deum, a hallmark of French Baroque. Its orchestral brilliance and intricate choral writing capture the splendour of 17th century France, offering a thrilling complement to the gentle intimacy of Faure’s vision.
The Scholars will be lead by conductor Chalium Poppy joined by popular tenor soloist Iain Tetley and exceptional soloists from within the ensemble.We are also delighted to feature distinguished New Zealand musician Jonathan Dunlop, celebrated for his artistry on historic keyboard instruments.
