PROFILE
Tauranga Musical Theatre

If you love to act, sing, dance, perform, create, support and be social (or all of the above), you’ll find yourself right at home with Tauranga Musical Theatre (TMT).
Our society has a rich history, dating back to the 1940s, but we pride ourselves on staging progressive, innovative and exciting amateur theatre productions each year and giving our community plenty of development opportunities in the arts. From performers (actors, singers, musicians) and persons interested in backstage craft (costumes, lighting, sound, directing, production management, set construction, musical direction, choreography) to management (marketing, committee), all have a place at TMT.
As with any society or club, there is a social aspect that can’t be overlooked. There is a strong social scene at TMT that provides an important change of scenery from producing the shows, and also valuable time to meet people and build a solid team atmosphere.
As well as staging four shows a year (including one youth show), we hold workshops, development opportunities, youth classes and much more throughout the year.
There are always opportunities for people with a wide range of skills to become involved, and in return, experience the ‘kinship’ of a fun-loving and entertaining group of people. Come along and say hi!
