I am a New Zealand multimedia artist and designer whose contemporary minimalist works focus on shapes, patterns, connections, and tiny worlds. Science and mycology play a vital role in my works, along with macro and microscopic photography. I am fascinated by light and shadow and am heavily influenced by the gestural techniques embodied within Japanese ink painting, and ideas attributed to Wabi-sabi, Zen Buddhism and mindfulness.
I’m especially interested in the ecosystem and sustainable design. Caring for the planet is at the core of everything I do; working with upcycled or earth-friendly materials whenever possible, ensuring all of my packaging is recyclable or reusable.
My current works focus predominantly on mycological patterns, the forest ecosystem, acceptance of the natural and unrefined, and the idea of human intervention in all walks of life.
I have a Bachelor of Creative Industries degree (VA:Visual Arts major) and am currently studying small business while running my creative practice out of Satellite Studios at The Incubator (The Historic Village, Tauranga).
I’m extremely passionate about community development, especially in the creative sector, and I’m very proud to be a part of The Incubator Creative Hub family.
