I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be an artist. I studied arts from high school, and completed a Masters in Fine Arts at the University of Arts in Helsinki, Finland. My technical specialty was photo-based printmaking techniques but my heart is in time and space related art (installations and creative spaces).
Alongside my studies, I started a family of six kids, which impacted my art greatly. I created in galleries and museums around the world pictures and installations about the adult world, life, home and death, but all from the perspective of a child. I led the Finland Printmaking Association and was part of the Jury International exhibition Miniprint Finland 2010, Finnish Artists 115. exhibition, 2011 and exhibitions of Gallery G in Helsinki, Finland. My works have been seen in Finland state collections, towns collections and in Art Foundations. After a season of many museum and gallery exhibitions, I created community art with refugee children at a refugee centre and with elderly mental health patients at a closed ward. I found this to be a new way for the community to be a part of the creative process and it brought new meaning and purpose to my art work.
I moved, with my family, to New Zealand in January 2016.
I’m very keen for collaborations, specially with artist who has indigenous background. I have Sami blood and I’m interested to do some art work in NZ from that perspective. I’m selling my prints/photos in different places; please contact for more info if you are interested.
