I am a multidisciplinary artist specialising in hand painted murals to help enhance and personalise homes, businesses, and communities. Since “Murals by Millie” officially launched in 2023, I have worked with a range of clients from private homeowners, to corporate and commercial companies, to not-for profit organisations helping to beautify public spaces.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, and an Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts. After working as a Gallery Curator and Art Advisor in Tauranga NZ, followed by an Event Manager for Downtown Tauranga, I was longing to give more of my energy to expressing my creative side again. After having my two babies, and before returning to work in the city, I spent quality time in my art studio and realised that creating and making was my calling all along. I have been conceptualising and painting commissions since, spending valuable time enjoying the beauty and fulfilment that doing something I love brings.

I believe art can be more than just visually and aesthetically pleasing. I strive to create murals that are functional. Whether they relay a direct message to the viewers, help express a company’s brand, or a person’s personality, or even serve as an interactive backdrop for photos, murals can be more than just art.

I would describe my style as bold and impactful. It’s feminine, abstract, modern, and colourful. The colours and subject matter that are chosen, are all derived from the surroundings and personality of the people, community, and environment I’m painting in. Simply put, the goal of my work, is to be an artistic expression for my clients and communities.
