Tēnā koutou! I’m your hype girl for YOUR sustainable sewing journey! My kaupapa has always been to provide the space, the tools, and the encouragement for upcycling textiles and upskilling communities. I’ve been sewing, blogging, gramming and teaching sewing for over 10 years through my sewcial enterprise Sew Love and I’m stoked to be now calling Tauranga home.

From community house night classes, to a bricks ‘n’ mortar sewing lounge in Tāmaki Makaurau, to a solarsewing campervan called Cecil travelling to Bluff and back. I continue to love hosting pop-up workshops and creative spaces to share my passion for sewing skills & sustainable living. Alongside markets, conferences, schools, public spaces, & recycle centres, my sewing journey has always proved a hands-on way to feel empowered for ourselves, for our community & for Papatūānuku. It’s been inspiring to see folks’ connect to stitching-stories from their past, to fill up with pride because they made something, and to feel that slowed down bliss of creating instead of consuming.

Together we can DIY the reusables we need, repair the things we love, embrace what resources are already around us, sewing slow and sewing together with others – it all helps our lives and our environment feel nourished.

More recently I’ve been known for my sellout upcycled-scrap bumbags and dancing around on instagram but hosting workshops is my homeslice of happiness. I invite you to come join one of my classes at the Creative Community Campus or let’s talk about your dream sewcial collaboration; creative activity in your workplace? Empowerment for your youth group or school? Colourful hands-on activation to your community event? My popups always provide an inviting and inclusive, safe space with encouragement for everyone’s creativity and self expression.

Younger me always aspired, and trained, to be an English/Drama teacher in a highschool, but I laugh at how I now I teach sewing & biz comms… Dramatically! I’m available for public speaking gigs, hosting or presenting on: Sustainability, sustainable style, creative entrepreneurship, storytelling & engagement, small business marketing & comms etc.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your creative journey with my suitcases of fabric scraps & friendly machines.

Let’s get you hyped for some sewcial creativity ~ learn to SEW and LOVE the earth!
