Hi! I’m Sarah Cornish. I am a visual artist who is inspired daily by the natural world. I love to create familiar scenes from nature through a surrealist lens, especially murals which I produce under my brand The Lazy Mermaid. 

As a muralist, I create uplifting unique murals designed to enhance each particular space. My work centres around creating harmony in my colour palette, inviting contrast between soft and vibrant colours, and using lively imagery. I put so much of myself into each piece that I create, and I am delighted that feedback I get about my work is that my murals are joyful, happy and fun. 

I am from Cornwall in the UK and I’ve called the Bay of Plenty home for the last 11 years/since 2014. I am inspired daily by the natural beauty of this place we live in. I am also heavily influenced by my love for travel and my experiences living around the world. I love how other cultures incorporate colour into their spaces and bring life and flair to the environment.
