New trustees sought for Creative Bay of Plenty

Creative Bay of Plenty Charitable Trust (CBOP) is committed to ensuring that diverse perspectives are represented in our community. We are seeking up to three new Trustees to join our Board who will bring fresh thinking to the value, impact and influence that arts and culture have in the Western Bay.

CBOP’s Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the strategic and financial planning of the Trust and the delivery of contracted services to Tauranga City Council, Western Bay of Plenty District Council and the Ministry of Culture and Heritage.

An enthusiastic board with strong professional networks and complementary skills, they are working with a small and passionate team who are dedicated to serving as the region’s umbrella organisation and leading advocate for arts, culture, and heritage, providing connections, capability building, resources (funding, information, and technical support), and promotion of creative events and opportunities. If you are passionate about helping local arts and cultural activities to thrive in our region, we want to hear from you.

We are especially interested in candidates who whakapapa to our local iwi, those living in the Western Bay, and those who represent the region’s youth voice. For the latter, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates under 30 who want to start or develop a governance career in a supportive environment.

The positions have a modest remuneration and are for an initial appointment term of three years. Meetings are currently held at 5.30pm on the third Thursday of each month with some additional representative and committee work required outside of meetings.

Download the application form here and email to rose@creativebop.org.nz by 5pm Tuesday 19 April.
