Katikati Open-Air Art and Western Bay of Plenty District Council are seeking artists to create a public mural at Aongatete Domain. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity while celebrating the unique character of Aongatete, a rural community at the heart of the Western Bay of Plenty.
The mural will be painted on the toilet block at Aongatete Domain, a reserve featuring tennis courts, play equipment, and picnic areas. The structure, visible from State Highway 2, presents a prime location to engage both local users and passing motorists.
Project details:
- Theme: The mural should tell a story about Aongatete, its people, and its cultural significance.
- Durability: Must last at least five years, with a robust, vandal-resistant design.
- Submission deadline: 28 February 2025
- Mural completion: 1 May 2025
