Kia ora,

My name is Marino Joy Magee and I create art. My mediums are Raranga (weaving with flax), Painting, Murals, Maori Design, and occasional woodworking. I create art for the people and because I enjoy the process of making something new.

I am born and raised in Athenree (Pawharangi), and I am now living at the Mount which is were I also do my creating. Ive studied my Raranga and Maori Toi at Te Wananga O Aotearoa and have been a self tought weaver prior to my studies.

My proudest achievement’s so far is painting a mural for a local native tree planting company in Katikati called Project Parore, weaving a ten meter wall hanging for the new Waihi Beach Library and creating a multi coloured Wahine Piupiu.
