We are a crochet group based in Ōmokoroa just started up this year 2023, and we meet every Saturday morning 9:15 to 11:45am in the Whakamarama Room under the Ōmokoroa Library.

At present we have a community project underway making granny/peggy squares for four Christmas trees which will be displayed in four different inside locations here on the peninsula in December. After Christmas the squares will be upcycled into blankets and given away to those that need them, and the tree frames are going to be reused again for the following Christmas with possibly crocheted flowers as decoration instead.

We have now also started another project which is running along side the Christmas tree one, where we inspire anyone who is wanting to participate to make small crochet items which are to put on the four Christmas trees and then given away to our young ones in December, and they are also to be put in public shops/places for anyone to find and keep. This is called: BOP Random Acts of Crochet Kindness (there is a facebook page with the same name).

We will have tags to go with these free gifts where the finder can scan our QR code and post on our facebook page to show off their finds.
