Ko Mauao tōku maunga, Ko Tauranga tōku moana, Ko Ngāti Tapu rāua ko Ngāi Tūkairangi ōkuhapū. Ko Ngāi Te Rangi tōku iwi.

I am a Contemporary Maori Artist with a Degree in Visual Communications Design and Fine Arts graduating from Unitec, Auckland and have earned a Diploma of Teaching and Education from the Auckland College of Education. My areas of focus are painting and print commissions, murals, community education and fashion products.

My acrylic paintings represent ‘who I am’ and ‘where I come from’ – clearly representing my cultural heritage ‘Maori’ through the use of the ’kauae’ (chin tattoo). The notion of ‘empowering’ women to have and use their voice in their workplace, home life, relationships and in life generally, has close connotations for me. Married with children and having worked full time in mostly leadership roles, the motivation to empower women either personally and/or professionally is at the forefront of my work. It is through my artistry in painting, that the aim to inspire other women to use their own voice to empower themselves, is key.

I am passionate about empowering and collaborating with other Indigenous Artists and call to action, anyone who would like to connect and collaborate with the focus around Nga Toi Maori or Indigenous Art.
