My design process incorporates sunlight, salts and acids to reveal the hidden elements of copper. Light, darkness, texture and vivid patinas emerge. These constantly evolve through this alchemy and I am inspired by the changing textures and colours of the materials I craft from. I enjoy working with metals and drawing out the organic beauty of this medium. My creative expression ranges from sculpture to high end wall art. I produce unique gallery artworks, and when engaged to create a commission piece, I work closely with my clients to capture their vision.
I have been a guest artist for the Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Festival in 2018, 2020 and 2022 and my work features in three permanent concept gardens, at the Tauranga Historic Village, Tauranga Racecourse and the Te Puna Quarry.
A selection of my art work can be seen at galleries and garden centers throughout the North Island under the labels of “Re.Work.It” and Isaac Weston. My latest work can be viewed by appointment at the Isaac Weston Art Gallery | Re.Work.It at 10 Sunny Bay Road, Matua Tauranga.
