I grew up in Tauranga and, after many years away, have returned to the Bay of Plenty with a renewed connection to the landscapes of Aotearoa.

After a long career in professional photography, I turned to painting as a more instinctive and expressive way of working. Photographs often provide a starting point, but the paintings move beyond literal description, using colour, gesture and transparent layers to capture the energy and atmosphere of the natural world.

Collectors are often drawn to the immersive colour and luminous light that run through my work, transforming gardens, rivers and wild landscapes into expressive, emotionally resonant spaces.

I hold a Master of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland.
