I live in Papamoa where I create sculptural works.

My love of nature and it’s creatures that inhabit our world are the main focus of my work.

While living in Auckland I was inspired to make plant forms using recycled copper sheet & wire. A jewellery making course taught me new skills which have been extremely useful in making these sculptures.

I graduated with B.Fine Art(Photographic Arts), Rhodes University, South Africa & then entered the business world. But since 2005 I have followed my creative path which has brought me so much joy.

I have exhibited in various group and solo shows in NZ and South Africa. My work is available at Waihi Beach Gallery, Waihi. Currently I’m making sculptures for interior and exterior locations. My main medium of choice is copper and reclaimed material where possible. These range from small interior sculptures of tussock grasses and flax bushes.

Over the last few years my sculptures have taken the form of spheres of flowers & fish. I hand cut and shape each element the solder them together. Some copper spheres acquire their colour through patina’s. Other’s are left to the elements where they go on a shifting colour journey.

If you are interested in knowing more about my work please feel free to contact me. Thanks Lynda
