I’m a local author of many books for older children and teenagers. I have a great love of social history that is often reflected in my books, such as Brave Bess and 1914: Riding into War.

I also have a close affinity with animals which feature in many of my novels like The Wolf in the Wardrobe, Dreams of Warriors and Saving Sam.

I’m lucky to live on a small hobby farm in Pyes Pa with my husband Lionel and many pets. I enjoy meeting with readers of my books and chatting with them about writing and reading. I often travel to schools and libraries as part of the Writers in Schools programme.
